The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), offers a suite of distance learning courses that build upon our face-to-face professional development workshops.

Summer Courses

Dates: 6/19 - 8/2/2009     CD501: Introduction to Earth’s Climate

Dates: 6/19 - 8/9/2009     CD502: Earth System Science: A Climate Change Perspective

Dates: 6/19 - 8/9/2009     CD503: Understanding Climate Change Today

Courses are taught online using Moodle as the online course-ware system.

Optional College Credit

Two credit hours of graduate-level continuing education credit are available through the Colorado School of Mines Teacher Enhancement Program.   NCAR is not a degree-granting institution and therefore cannot grant official credit for our courses. Recognizing that many schools and districts require their teachers to complete a certain amount of continuing education each year, we have made arrangements with the Colorado School of Mines to offer graduate-level continuing education credits upon the successful completion of each course.
